Royal Navy and Royal Marines charity turn out to support Cold Dip Commando event in Portsmouth
Today saw veterans from across His Majesty’s Royal Marine and the Royal Navy armed forces come together to honour the memory of Royal Marine Tim Crossin, affectionately known as ‘The Cold Dip Commando.’
Perfect weather set the scene for a large gathering of veterans, their families and friends.
The Royal Navy and Royal Marines charity, who hosted the event said:
“Today, we are proud to stand alongside the incredible team behind the Cold Dip Commando: The Timspiration Tour, honouring the final wish of Tim and supporting four remarkable causes.
Across 31 days, 31 UK locations, and 3,100 miles, participants are braving freezing waters to raise £10,000 for the The Royal Marines Charity, Lymphoma Action, The Bowra Foundation, and Rock 2 Recovery UK
As part of the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity family, we are showing our support today at Eastney Beach, Portsmouth, where our very own Joe Standen (RM Veteran), Kev Bell (RN Veteran), Adam Silverthorne, and Shannon Cooper are taking the plunge!
This challenge is more than just cold dips—it’s a testament to resilience, camaraderie, and the unbreakable Commando spirit.”
