MUSIC: ‘Bright Fury’ remix 90’s icon Berri
Celebrated dance artist Berri, known for her iconic 90’s hits such as “The Sunshine After the Rain” and “Shine Like A Star,” is back with an electrifying new track, “Overthinking.” The uptempo pop-dance anthem marks her return to the spotlight, blending classic sounds with fresh, modern energy.
The highly anticipated single release saw a call for remixers and producers to remix the track. Robert New (aka Will and the Starlight) got to work and produced a Bright Fury Remix, a high-octane reimagining that pays tribute to Berri’s musical roots. The remix fuses nostalgic M1 pianos and organs, deep bass drops, and 90’s-inspired beats, while infusing them with contemporary disco rhythms. Enhanced by submarine-style sonar pings (homage to The Sunshine After The Rain), punchy arpeggiators, and two string quartets. The track is a dynamic, five-minute build-up of pure euphoric energy. Berri’s powerful vocals soar above the intricate instrumentation, creating an uplifting and immersive listening experience.
StormGlide producer Robert New, who crafted the Bright Fury Remix, shared his excitement about the project: “I remember buying Berri’s CD-singles when they were released in the 90’s. When I saw that Berri was back with a new track, and the opportunity arose to remix it, the pop fan inside of me was floored. Never did I think I’d get the chance to remix one of my all-time favorite female vocalists. When Rebecca (Berri) said she loved the remix on social media, it felt like ‘mission accomplished.’ I can die happy!.”
He added', “I can’t wait to hear the official remix EP release and the artists Superfrank and Soft Pillow Breaker, who’s remixes were picked for the release are brilliant and just make you want to hit the dance floor.”
